A Day At Thrive

Thrive begins at 9am, when we come together as a community for our morning assembly. During this time, students hear announcements, participate in the Pledge of Allegiance, and enjoy a silly joke shared by our Program Lead. After assembly, students rotate with their grade-level cohort to classes in History, Science, Literature, and Art. 

At Thrive, students are grouped into classes of K-1st grades, 2-3rd grades, 4-5th grades and 6-8th grades. They spend the day with their cohort, rotating through classes. Students also experience two recess times and a lunch time with planned activities designed to build community and belonging. Our day ends at 2pm.

Our Curriculum

Thrive takes a "Classical Remixed" approach to learning. We blend elements of classical education with project-based learning, hands-on activities, and interactive lessons, all while emphasizing a strong sense of community and belonging for our students. For the 2025-2026 school year, we are using the following curriculum:

History – Story of the World, Volume 2- Medieval History
Students explore the world during the Middle Ages, from the fall of Rome to the rise of the Renaissance. We use Story of the World as our foundation and create hands-on, interactive experiences to make history come to life. In addition to our weekly lessons, we host an annual History Festival where students are immersed in period-specific activities that enhance their connection to the historical eras we study.

Science – Elemental Science: Earth Science and Astronomy for the Grammar and Logic Stages
Our curriculum introduces the fundamental elements of Earth and space sciences through grade-appropriate lessons tailored to each developmental stage. To spark curiosity and foster a love for science, we incorporate engaging demonstrations and hands-on experiments related to Earth's features, living Earth systems, the solar system, stars, and space, while promoting a sense of wonder and exploration in every class.

Literature
Each week, students read a story aligned with the historical time period they are studying in History. Our Literature teachers collaborate closely with History teachers to create theme-based lessons that reinforce key concepts. Through a wide range of lesson plans, we inspire a sense of adventure and exploration, allowing students to connect with people and events from various eras.

Art

In our art program, students embark on a creative journey through the artistic developments of the Middle Ages. They explore diverse regions of the world, discovering the unique cultures, artistic contributions, and techniques of the people who shaped them. Through lessons in painting, drawing, and other artistic media, students gain a deeper understanding of art history while developing their own artistic skills. This program fosters a love for art and provides students with a rich foundation in both the creative process and the historical context of art.

At Thrive, our lessons are designed to help students work together. We want our students to develop friendships that last a lifetime, which is why we incorporate project-based learning and collaboration into all of our classes.

Parent Involvement

We know that homeschooling requires an enormous level of dedication, and we want to give time back to you in your day. We value the sacrifice and love you put into your children on a daily basis, and we are here to help you by offering a high-quality day of academic instruction – a place where you can bring the whole family – so that you can have some time to get errands done, have coffee with a friend, or just relax! Thrive hires paid teachers for our program so that parents don't have to spend countless hours volunteering. For parents who want to stay on a regular basis, we require a fingerprint background check to ensure the safety of our student community.

Tuition

Tuition at Thrive is $2,300 per school year for one day per week or $4,600 for two days per week (based on a 10-month school year). For the 2025–2026 school year, tuition will be billed quarterly:

• $575 per quarter for one day/week
• $1,150 per quarter for two days/week

This averages to $230/month for one day of classes and $460/month for two. If you enroll after the school year begins, tuition will be prorated based on your student’s first day of attendance.

In addition, we charge:

• A non-refundable $75 Registration Fee, and
• A Supply Fee each semester: $100 for one day/week, or $200 for two days/week

We are direct-pay providers for the Arizona ESA Program, the Florida Step Up for Students UA and PEP scholarships for the 2025/2026 school year. Students attending Colearn Academy in Arizona may attend one day per week at Thrive Communities at no cost (except for the yearly $75 registration fee).

Please note that we do not offer sibling or multi-day discounts. Students may withdraw at any time; however, the registration fee, tuition for the current quarter, and supply fees for the current semester are non-refundable. Tuition and Fee Schedule 2026-2027

Tuition for the 2026-2027 school year will be $595 per quarter for one day/week and $1,190 per quarter for two. All other fees will remain the same. In South Carolina, families will be able to use the Education Scholarship Trust Fund Program (ESTF) scholarship or attend one-day per week free of charge through Colearn Academy Charter School.
