Location & Meeting Times

Meeting Day: Tuesdays

Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Location: Our campus is located in Sun City near the intersection of N Del Webb Blvd and W Bell Road. We are conveniently located just minutes south of the Surprise city limits, making it an ideal drop-off location for families in Surprise, El Mirage, Peoria, and surrounding West Valley neighborhoods.

Our Grade-Level Cohorts

The Surprise/Sun City campus has the following cohorts:

  • K-1: Green Group
  • 2-3: Red Group
  • 4-5: Blue Group
  • 6-8: Yellow Group
  • 9-12: High School

We keep cohorts small to support personal attention, relationships, and a connected community. Students remain with their group throughout the day to build consistency and friendship. Cohorts are capped at approximately 20 students, and once a group is full, we begin a waitlist.

Thrive teachers hold university degrees and have backgrounds in education, with many holding teaching certificates. Each subject – history, science, literature, and art – is led by a dedicated teacher. High school students meet separately from K-8 students and follow the Thrive high school curriculum with their own instructor.

Socialization & Community

Building community and socialization is a core part of our mission. In addition to weekly classroom interaction, recess, and small-group activities, Thrive families gain access to a statewide network of events.

  • Field Trips: Educational visits to places like science museums.

  • Community Events: Large gatherings, such as our annual bash at Hurricane Harbor, dances, and fairs.

  • Consistent Peer Groups: Students see the same peers each week, creating familiarity and allowing friendships to develop naturally over time.

Faith-Neutral Academics

Thrive works well for families who prefer to guide faith decisions for their household. Our program is faith-neutral and focused purely on academics, creating a safe environment that leaves matters of faith in your hands.

No Grades or Homework

Thrive is designed to support your homeschool while keeping parents in control.

  • No Required Homework: We do not assign homework.

  • No Grades: We focus on learning and engagement. Families are free to extend the learning at home if they choose, but it is never required.

K-8 Curriculum: Classical Remixed

Our curriculum, Classical Remixed, blends the structure of classical education with hands-on, project-based learning designed to get kids engaged with the content in a stress-free way.

Students conduct physics experiments, read age-appropriate classics, engage in discussions, and dive into immersive events such as our Egyptian-themed history festival.

A day at Thrive includes:

  • History: Storytelling, discussion, and age-appropriate debate as students examine real events, perspectives, and decisions from the past.

  • Science: Hands-on experiments where students test ideas and learn how the physical world works through direct experience.

  • Literature: Guided reading and discussion that helps students understand the story and participate meaningfully at their own reading level.

  • Art: Period-inspired projects tied to the historical era being studied, exploring how art reflected daily life, beliefs, and values.

  • Movement & Recess: Time for physical activity, social play, and connection.

  • Small-Group Activities: Structured opportunities to build friendships and community.

Families attending two days per week receive a full History, Science, and Art curriculum, leaving only Math and Language Arts to be completed at home.

High School Curriculum

Core Courses Include:

  • STEAM – An interdisciplinary course emphasizing creative problem-solving across science, technology, engineering, and art. Students tackle challenges ranging from engineering design to performance arts, applying inventive thinking and collaborative skills.

  • Historical Inquiry – This course centers on historical thinking through analysis of primary sources, evidence-based writing, and critical reading. Students explore key periods in ancient history while developing research and interpretation skills.

  • Inquiry-Based Physics – A hands-on science course that places experimentation and student curiosity at the core of learning. Students engage in investigations that lead to conceptual understanding of physics principles such as forces, energy, and motion.

  • Literary Society – A literature and writing class focused on rich texts, Socratic discussion, and communication skills. Students enhance analytical reading and strengthen writing using a structured curriculum to support expressive clarity and organization.

  • Mock Trial and Debate – An interactive course that immerses students in the American justice system through role play and simulation. Participants build skills in argumentation, public speaking, legal procedure, and collaboration.

  • Expressive Arts – Theater and Art – Designed to cultivate artistic expression and rhetorical ability. The course includes in-class theater practice along with a focused study of artistic techniques and interpretation.

A True Drop-Off Day

Unlike a co-op, Thrive is a true drop-off program.

  • No Volunteering Required: You do not need to teach, clean, or monitor recess.

  • Parent Freedom: You get a reliable, guaranteed day off each week to work, rest, or focus on your other children while professional educators handle the instruction.

Safety & Security

Your child’s safety is our top priority. We maintain a strictly vetted, closed-campus environment:

  • Background Checks: Every teacher, aide, and staff member undergoes a background check.

  • Closed Campus: No unauthorized visitors are allowed on site during program hours.

  • Trained Staff: Program Leads are trained in First Aid and CPR.

  • Secure Dismissal: We manage a safe hand-off process during pickup.
